Your dentist, Dr. Michael Tiplea, is a dreamer. That’s why you’ll see dreaming mentioned so much on this website and discussed so often in our office – creating dreams, keeping them alive, living and accomplishing them. Dreams are what keep us full of sparks, moving forward, achieving our goals. And it is because of a dream that Dr. Tiplea is here to help you reach your dream of a healthy, brilliant smile.
Born and raised in Romania, Dr. Tiplea graduated from dental school in his native country in 2004. But Dr. Tiplea is a relentless, competitive dreamer. He wanted something more: Ardently pursuing happiness, he found the opportunities and challenges of the US just what he wished for. In 2011, Dr. Michael Tiplea graduated from the University of the Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, one of the most respected institutions of higher learning in the country.
A Passion For Excellence
Since then, Dr. Tiplea has kept the dream awake and alive through constant and rigorous continuing education, studying at these distinguished institutions all over the country:
- Spears (100 hours)
These studies have offered a variety of certifications and accreditations, including:
- AGD Fellowship with continuing classes toward Mastership
- Member of the Seattle Study Club : Dallas chapter
- Invisalign certification
- Oral Sedation level 1
- IV Sedation provided by a 3rd party
And because he is never satisfied to rest on his achievements, he continues to study rigorously and is currently working toward his accreditation with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Helping Others Achieve Their Dreams
Dr. Tiplea’s journey has taught him a lot about life’s struggles and given him empathy for the people around him, especially those lucky enough to be his dental customers. This compassion is not limited to his dental practice – Dr. Tiplea has won multiple awards for volunteering with USA Habitat for Humanity, performing community work, and acting as a Big Brother. His time at Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso continues to be an important part of his life as a short term mentorship of a 12-year-old turned into a life-changing, seven-year relationship.
“Dentistry Is My Passion… But It’s Not My Identity”
While we never met a dentist as wholly dedicated to his craft and his patients as Dr. Michael Tiplea, he continues to cultivate a life outside of the office. His interests augment his thoughtfulness in the dental office. For example, he takes ongoing classes in counseling and has a keen interest in addictions and marriage therapy. He enjoys biking, (road biking), working as a dog trainer, reading old books and biographies of people who overcame adversity, and tutoring students in math. He is currently working towards a Masters in knowing and loving his talented wife, Alexandra, a voice coach and semifinalist for Romania Has Talent (the equivalent of America’s Got Talent).
